   World Crest

This patch is worn by all Scouts and Leaders to signify membership of our program in the World Scouting Movement. This patch shows our brotherhood with millions of Scouts around the world.

This patch is worn centered above the left pocket in the middle between the top of the pocket and the shoulder seam.

   U.S. Flag

This patch is one that you shouldn't have to sew on! Most uniforms come with the flag already attached to the right sleeve. Some previously used uniforms may have it taken off but additional ones can be purchased at the Dan Beard Scout Store.

The Boy Scouts of America emblem over the right pocket is also attached to uniforms when purchased.

Den Number Strip and Patrol Patch

This patch indicates the number assigned to the Den for which a Scout is a member. All Scouts and Leaders wear this emblem as part of the uniform.

Second year Webelos Scouts (and Leaders) who's Den has chosen to utilize the Patrol for identification would wear the Patrol patch instead. There are numerous Patrol identities available.

These emblems are worn on the right sleeve  directly below the American Flag.

   Dan Beard Council Emblem

This patch is worn by all Scouts and Leaders to indicate the Council that represents their Pack. Each Council develops their own design although the shape and position on the uniform are the same. Our Council is the Dan Beard Council.

These patches can be purchased at the Scout Shop. Typically the Council changes this emblem every couple of years. The latest one is depicted. Any of them are appropriate. This patch is worn on the left sleeve just below the shoulder seam.

   Veteran Unit Bar

This patch is worn by all Scouts and Leaders to signify our Pack's charter being at least 25 years old. We've been a Pack chartered by Crestview Presbyterian Church since 1978. When we hit our 50-year anniversary we will wear a 50 year bar.

This patch is worn centered above the left sleeve just below the council patch.

Unit Numbers

This patch is worn by all Scouts and Leaders to signify membership in Pack 939. The pack number is made up of three individual numeral patches that are sewn on next to one another. These numerals are available at the Dan Beard Scout Shop

The pack unit numbers are worn on the left sleeve.

Webelos Colors

As a Webelo earns activity badges the official place to wear them is on the front of the Webelos hat. However, this very popular part of the uniform from years past is still available. If the Scout wishes to, they may purchase and wear this on their right sleeve and place the activity badges on the strips.

Some prefer this method to the hat because hats tend to get lost easier than something that is attached directly to the uniform shirt.

Webelos Colors can be purchased at the Dan Beard Scout Shop.

Red Patch Vest

The patch vest is an optional, but very popular, uniform piece that can be worn by Scouts. Patch vests give the Scouts a place to display previously earned awards that can no longer be worn on the official uniform and/or other activity awards and patches that are not intended for the official uniform.

The Pack typically gives out patches and other awards for activities such as campouts, derbies, service projects and the like. These patches are not allowed on the official uniform but can be worn on this supplemental vest.

The patch vest should not be worn during formal occasions such as receiving rank awards or the Blue and Gold banquet.

Patch vests are available at the Dan Beard Scout Shop.

   Badge of Office

This badge is worn by Scout Leaders to signify their leadership position in our Pack. Below are some examples of the various patches. Pack Committee leadership positions such as Secretary, Advancement Chair or Outdoor Activity Chair do not have their own designated patch, but should wear the Pack Committee badge.

This badge is worn centered above the left sleeve just below the council patch.
